Modifications to CNA Program due to COVID-19

The current class is in-person instruction for both the theory and skills lessons. The skills lessons will occur at a skilled nursing facility. The location of the facility will be stated on the first day of the CNA program.

List of Other Class Modifications:
  • Face mask use is enforced when at VIP Nursing School and at the skilled nursing facility. Cloth masks are not allowed.

CNA Program - Enrollment Process (Detailed List)

Requirement #1
California driver license/ID, valid passport, or valid work permit
  • Must not be expired and have current name, address
  • The name should be the same as the name found on your social security card

  • Physical card must be in your possession and must not be laminated
  • The name should be the same as the name found on your CA ID/license

Requirement #3
High school/college diploma (or unofficial transcript), GED equivalent
  • If a foreign diploma does not have English translation, the diploma must be translated to English by Certified Diploma Translation Services.
  • High school/college diploma (or unofficial transcript), GED equivalent. Students enrolling in our programs must have an English language proficiency equivalent to the 12th grade level. English proficiency is demonstrated by possessing a HS diploma or its equivalent from a USA school. Must demonstrate ability to speak, read, understand, and communicate in English at 12th grade level and be able to follow English directions and skills in English. Must reflect sufficient English language proficiency to be successful in an English based curriculum.

Requirement #7
Physical exam with TB skin test/PPD (complete)
  • Physical exam (no TB skin test) cannot be older than 1 year.
  • TB skin (Mantoux tuberculin skin test or TST) test results (negative result confirmation documentation)
    • Past TB skin/Mantoux tuberculin skin test/TST test cannot be older than 3 months

  • TB skin test: You will need to return to the doctor or nurse after 42-72 hours (2-3 days), so they can check the injection site.
  • If you have tested positive for tuberculosis in the past, you will need to have a chest x-ray done to rule out an active infection.
    • Chest x-ray results cannot be older than 3 years.
  • If you do not have medical insurance, you can get a physical exam done at an urgent care center. You will need to call the urgent care center near you to inquire about prices.
  • If you are a current college student (2-year or 4-year college), you may be able to get a physical exam with a TB skin test done for a more affordable price compared to urgent care centers.

  • Write checks and money orders to VIP Nursing School.
  • Breakdown of $675.00 = $250.00 (non-refundable registration fee) + $75.00 (CNA textbook) + $350.00 (1st installment for tuition)

Enrollment Process Modifications due to COVID-19

The CNA class is capped at 15 students. If there are less than 10 students enrolled for the CNA class, the class will be postponed. You will be informed when a class will be postponed only if you have successfully completed the enrollment process. You will be contacted via the email and/or phone number written in the enrollment form.

Upon enrollment, the enrollee must submit the following requirements at least one (1) week before the start of the class.
  1. Copy of Covid-19 Vaccination record
  2. Copy of Live Scan (digital fingerprint) completed form
  3. Physical Exam done by MD or Nurse Practitioner with TB test
  4. Copy of High School diploma in English. If a foreign diploma does not have English translation, the diploma must be translated to English by Certified Diploma Translation Services.
  5. Complete, Sign and submit Enrollment document
  6. Bring a copy of your Social Security Card
  7. Bring a copy of California Driver License/California ID, Passport or Work Permit. All forms of ID must be valid and not expired.

Additional Information regarding high school/ college diploma requirement:

VIP Nursing School is not responsible for the associated fees incurred due to the CNA program like the cost for the physical exam, the TB test, and the live scan fingerprinting services.

* The document submission timeline on the brochure is not up to date. All required documents and fees must be completed at least 1 week before the 1st day of class. Late submissions of required documents or initial fee payment are not accepted. You cannot wait until the 1st day of class to complete enrollment and expect to be registered for the class.
